This test is obligatory if you wish to breed with a Foreign White. In the Netherlands, there are three specialized veterinarian practices where you can do this test. First a kind of rice grain is pricked between his shoulder blades. This is a chip, which makes the cat recognizable, with special reading equipment. The code on the chip meets the code which is pasted on the vaccination book and on the veterinarian’s declaration, that this test has been executed successfully. The ears are checked in advance with a kind of spy-glass in order to see if there are any visible deviations and then three little needles are placed below the skin with threads. These threads are connected to a computer. Then, an earplug with a thread which will end up deep in the earflap is placed.      

The computer makes clicks in the earplug audible (it concerns 1000 clicks!). The veterinarian can check on a monitor if the cat can hear the clicks well (on the screen a few large peaks must become visible in the line). After about two minutes the plug is placed in the other ear and another 1000 clicks will follow. As soon as it is ready, the computer screen must look like the photo: two lines with large results. Both ears are good then.
NB: In order to prevent that the cat reacts on noises in the surroundings, he/she will get a small glow.
