Siamese

SiameseThis story should be about the Siamese, but first something else…….

There are people who love cats and there are people who love dogs. The mutual advantages are large. We love both, but slightly prefer the cat!

Through the centuries the cat has received a variable appreciation. The old Egyptians set the cat on a pedestal. In 1888 an immense cat’s cemetery was found along the Nile with about 100.000 cat’s mummies. The Greek historian Herodotus described how the Egyptians shaved off their eye brows when they mourned for the death of their beloved pet. Bastet, the goddess of fertility, had a cat’s head. The enemies of the Egyptians imposed on this cat cult. When the wicked Persians in 525 before Chr. attacked an Egyptian fortress, they made sure that a large quantity of cats walked in front of their troops. Because the followers of the Pharaoh didn’t want to harm the worshipped animals, they surrendered. As a consequence of their cat love, they were placed under Persian government. That is how the story goes.
Later on, for example in the Middle Ages in Europe, cats weren’t treated that friendly. For example they were tortured and killed. The French have had the strange habit for centuries to throw the animals in the bonfires on St.- John’s day or to place them on a post in the middle of the fire. Cats were seen as the symbol of the devil in Christian regions. People who cared for the animal, had to watch out and had to make sure that they weren’t accused of witchcraft.
SiameseIt was believed that both male and female witches could adopt a cat’s figure (just like in Harry Potter) and could cause disaster. Perhaps this has anything to do with the fact that cats failed in the Bible. In the Bible you see all kinds of strange animals, varying from man-eating whales to talking snakes, but no cats! Fortunately, everything turned out ok for the cat after all tortures, persecutions and other discomforts in the past. Nowadays, we have an industry of milliards varying from cat toys to cat psychologists.

Okay, back to the Siamese,
Before you start reading this information, I want to warn you!! We are not responsible for the consequences of meeting our “addiction”……It remains at your own risk…..
SiameseHistory
The history of the Siamese possible started in Thailand (Siam) in the 14th century. At the end of the 19th century the first Siamese cats came to Europe with travelers. The first imports were seal points, but later on these cats appeared to produce kittens in other colors spontaneously, like blue points, chocolate points and lilac points. These 4 colors, all uniform, are the so-called “classic colors” and all colors which came into being later on were caused by crossings with other breeds. Red, Cream Cinnamon and Fawn.

Character
Siamese cats appreciate their congeners; they become friends with dogs, but love the human being the most. They need human company the most. The Siamese hates to be alone and tries to find company in all kinds of ways.

Doorknobs aren’t safe, walls aren’t thick enough to stop her calling to people. Her voice is loud, but melodious and it has many nuances. They love to chat and answer by means of singing if they hear their name. Anyone who wants it can train a Siamese, since they do everything to pleasure their owner. Playing is part of their life, because in this way they can let off steam and give their temperament free play. But this pedigree among the cats also has a soft side…if she notices that someone is ill or sad she becomes a chief mother, she comforts and reassures and cuddles. She shows her compassion, cheers up and makes the “victim” smile. As they get older these gracious cats don’t loose their charm and vitality. They get wiser, but not more listless. Despite of their fragile figure Siamese cats belong to the cats which live the longest.
