LaPerm

LaPermWhat is a LaPerm?
This intriguing new breed is known for his slightly moulting fur and his adorable curly side-whiskers and eyebrows. The fur itself is very soft and waving and doesn’t have an undercoat (under coat is the place where cats moult the most). Since he doesn’t moult that much, he doesn’t need much care.

Compared to other cats, LaPerms aren’t very large, but they do have strong muscle organisms and can be very athletic.

Evolving from domestic shed cat to a carefully bred breed, this breed doesn’t have health deficits.
LaPerm kittens are born with a waving, multi-colored fur, curly side-whiskers and eyebrows and excessive ears. But these large ears shouldn’t frighten you. The face of the LaPerm grows faster than their ears which causes a pretty good result.
LaPermCharacter
LaPerm cats have a hearty personality. They look for human contact even before they open their eyes and continue to show affection to their human companions in many ways.
LaPerms will often stretch their paws to their owner’s face as token of affection. They love to be cuddled and also hug themselves, while they purr loudly.

Intelligence
The LaPerm is an intelligent breed, they can be taught to listen to orders but they can also be taught to fetch. Each of these lovely qualities makes the LaPerm an unique new breed.

More about their fur
Their fur occurs in many textures, colors and lengths. Some cats undergo a transmission during the completing of their fur. Although most cats will keep their original fur until they are adult cats, some kittens will lose their fur completely temporarily on some spots. This is caused by stress or huge changes in the kitten’s life. Experience shows that the fur will become thicker after weaning off.
LaPermAlthough the “look” of each kitten may vary, one thing is sure which is the cordiality and the people-oriented personality of this new breed.

Things LaPerms aren’t!
LaPerms don’t moult and don’t cause hypo-allergen allergies. Since they don’t moult they need less care and hardly avoid allergies, but that doesn’t mean that it concerns an “artificial” breed. This breed has been created by mother nature and has undergone a spontaneous mutation.

The original LaPerm cat was born as shed cat and differed enormously from the other kittens in the nest both qua personality and qua multicolor type. By breeding carefully the LaPerm has become a cat which loves people which are the best companion for cat lovers of all ages but they aren’t the feline solution for everybody.
