Japanese Bobtail

Japanese BobtailDerived from the CFA standard The characteristic of the Japanese Bobtail is the unique tail shape.

HEAD
Equilateral triangle with rounded lines, high cheekbones and a somewhat wide snout with clear “whisker break”. The profile has a slight slant at the nose bridge. The nose is long and has the same width everywhere.
EARS
Wide ears, not located close to each other, the tops point a bit forward. EYES
Large, oval and wide open eyes, positioned slantingly. The eyeball may not cross the cheekbone and the eyebrow.     BODY, PAWS, FEET
Long, elegant, well-muscled body with long elegant muscled paws and oval feet. The hind paws are longer than the forepaws, but since the cat bends his hind paws a lot when he stands it seems like he has a straight back line.
TAIL
The tail gets his unique shape by means of bending. The vertebras can be agile or have been grown together. The tail may not put out longer than 7,5 cm. Since the hairs on the tail are longer and stiffer due to bending, they stick out, which makes the tail look like a pumpkin. The pumpkin starts at the tail implant.
FUR
Reasonable short, soft silky fur without undercoat. Long-hair: medium-sized to long soft silky fur. Jabot is preferred. The fur gets longer at the end and is the longest on the tail and on the pant. Ear plumes and toe plumes are preferred.
EYE COLOR
Must fit the fur color. Blue eyes and odd-eyes are allowed.
