EMS Codes

The EMS codes are:
a  - Blue, it looks like grey and can vary between dark grey and light (pigeon) grey; it is a dilution of black.
b  - Chocolate, chocolate brown, it is a dilution of black with the blue gene.
c  - Lilac, light pearl grey, it is a dilution of chocolate.
d  - Red, it varies from ginger color until orange, also described as marmalade color. All red cats have a line pattern, most red cats are tomcats.
e  - Cream, it looks like light red or a mixture between red and white, it is a dilution of red.
f  - Black tortoise, also known as tabby-and-white cat or tricolor, it almost always concerns female cats.
g  - Blue tortoise (dilution of black tortoise).
h  - Chocolate tortoise
j  - Lilac tortoise
n  - Black.
o  - Cinnamon, cinnamon color, is also a dilution of black with also a part of the blue gene.
p  - Fawn, coffee with milk color or caramel color, is a dilution of cinnamon.
q  - Cinnamon tortoise.
r  - Fawn tortoise.
s  - Silver or smoke, if silver the cat has a light color at the basis of the hairs, all colors can also wear silver. Smoke is almost the same, only the hairs slowly change from light at the basis to darker at the top. Smoke is uniform.
y  - Golden.
x  - A color which hasn’t been acknowledged for this breed. The colors Chocolate, Lilac, Cinnamon and Fawn haven’t been acknowledged for the Norwegian wildcat.
w  - White, this is a term for a complete white (genetic white) cat. .

04  - Mitted
09  - An unknown quantity white.
11  - Shaded
12  - Chinchilla or Shell
21  - An unknown tabby pattern, all tabbies have an M on their forehead and lines on their paws.
22  - Blotched or marbled tabby, also known as the classic tabby, a cat with a marbled pattern.
23  - Mackerel or mackerel tabby, a striped cat, popular name: tiger line
24  - Spotted or spotted tabby, a spotted cat, the spots follow the lines of a mackerel tabby.
25  - Ticked or ringed tabby, the body has a camouflaged color, just like a wild rabbit.  
31  - Burmese color
32  - Tonkanese color
33  - Pointed


Eye colors:
61  - Blue eyes.
62  - Yellow, golden or orange eyes.
63  - Odd eyed, one eye is blue, the other can be green, yellow or orange.
64  - Green eyes.
65  - Burmese eye color
66  - Tonkanese eye color
67  - Pointed eye color.

Non agoeti :
uniform or smoke.

Agoeti :
A cat with a tabby pattern, most individual hairs are clearly striped or ringed in two or more colors, often dark and light.

Thumb mark or birth spot:
An often dark spot which almost all complete white cats have when they are born, this spot disappears usually before the cat is one year old.

Rufous or polygenetic :
This is a term for the genes which make sure that the color gets warmer. A black striped (brown tabby) can vary from grey to apricot color to dark brown with black lines. The warm background color is caused by the polygenetic.

Golden or golden color:
A popular name for a very warm colored cat with a lot of polygenetic, this s a variation of the black tabby.

Ghost mark or ghost drawing:
A tabby pattern which you observe with a young uniform kitten.
